The Shergold Report
The Shergold Report, commissioned by the Building Minister’s Forum in the wake of the Grenfell disaster has recently been released to the public.
The report makes some important recommendations into the future efficiency and accountability of the building industry. These recommendations may help shape a better future for strata buildings. However, owners in existing strata buildings will have to continue to struggle to navigate the current inefficient systems for rectification and compensation for building defects. This means funding the rectification works themselves while also funding any legal action in an attempt to recover their losses.
